Types of Evaluation

Experimental

Randomized Control Trials are the gold standard of evaluation designs

Quasi-Experimental

Recommended when random assignment of research subjects into control or experimental groups is not feasible

Naturalistic

Determine if “natural” exposure to intervention or stimulus result in intended outcomes

Pre-/Post-Intervention

Measure changes in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors between two waves of research

Longitudinal

Track changes in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of individuals over extended period of time

Cross-Sectional

Measure satisfaction with a product, program or event at one point in time
