Family Strong is a short documentary series, released in 2020, that tells the stories of five diverse families from across the U.S. as they navigate an increasingly uncertain world.

The overall series was given the Communicator’s highest honor, an “Award of Excellence” in the “Web Series for Online Video” category. Episode 7 of the series, “The ‘Love’ Thingy,” was given an “Award of Excellence” in the “Directing for Branded Entertainment” category as well as an “Award of Distinction” in the “Documentary for Branded Entertainment” category.

Finally, Episode 1 of the series, “A Family Emergency,” was honored with an “Award of Distinction” in the “Documentary for Online Video” category.

The Communicator Awards are a leading international awards program recognizing excellence in communication across a spectrum of industries, championing effective and meaningful work. This year’s competition received over 5,000 entries which were judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only member-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts.

Speaking about the awards, Fluent’s Founder and President Nellie Gregorian said, “Producing a 12-part documentary series in the middle of a global pandemic was no easy feat. I’m thrilled that the Communicator Awards recognized the hard work and dedication of our team and the series’ participants.”

“Family Strong” is produced by Fluent Productions, the video production arm of Fluent Research, a data- and insights-driven strategic consulting firm.
